Day 1: Departure
You will set off from Kampala or Entebbe at exactly to travel to Lake Mburo National Park. The park is only 4 hour’s drive through the scenic Ugandan countryside, offering stunning views of rolling hills, lush farmlands, and local villages. Upon arrival, you will check in at the lodge for relaxation and lunch. After you will embark on an evening game drive. Lake Mburo is a small but rich wildlife sanctuary, known for its variety of herbivores like zebras, impala, eland, topi, and buffalo. You might also spot leopards, hyenas, and a variety of bird species. After the game drive, return to your lodge for a delightful dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 2:Morning boat cruise and cultural experience at Emburara Farm Lodge
Start your day with a boat trip very early in the morning after breakfast at exactly 8:00 am. This game drive on the lake is an excellent way to see hippos, crocodiles, and numerous water birds like the African Jacana, kingfishers, and the rare shoebill stork. This peaceful boat ride offers a different perspective on the park’s diverse ecosystem. After the boat trip, head to Emburara farm, a working cattle farm located near the park, where you will experience the rural and cultural life of the Ankole people. The drive will take approximately 30 minutes. Upon arrival at the farm, you will be taken on a guided tour of the farm. This is an immersive cultural experience that introduces you to the traditional way of life of the Ankole people. You will have the opportunity to participate in various activities, including milking the cows and learning about traditional farming techniques. Experience a local Ugandan meal, such as matooke (cooked bananas), prepared in traditional ways and relax a bit. You will continue exploring the farm and the surrounding areas where you can visit a nearby village and interact with the locals. Head back to the lodge for dinner, relaxation, and overnight.
