Your journey begins with an early morning departure from Kampala or Entebbe, where your driver-guide will pick you up and brief you about the safari. You then set off westward toward Kibale Forest, passing through changing landscapes that gradually transition from urban areas into rural countryside.

Along the way, you will pass small towns, roadside markets, and agricultural fields, with banana plantations and tea estates becoming more common as you approach western Uganda. The drive offers scenic views and a glimpse into everyday life in the countryside.

You will stop for lunch in Fort Portal, a beautiful town located near the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains. After lunch, you continue for about an hour to your lodge.

Upon arrival, you check in and spend the rest of the day relaxing while enjoying the natural surroundings.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Wetland Walk

After an early breakfast, you head to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning the chimpanzee tracking experience. Accompanied by experienced guides, you enter Kibale Forest, where the sounds of birds and primates fill the air.

Tracking chimpanzees involves following their calls and movements through the forest. The trek can take a few hours, and along the way, you may encounter other primates such as colobus monkeys and red-tailed monkeys. Once the chimpanzees are located, you will spend time observing their behavior, including feeding, grooming, and interacting with each other.

After returning to the lodge for lunch, you will later visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided nature walk. This area is known for its biodiversity and offers opportunities to see birds, monkeys, and local community life. You return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
