<strong>Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Entebbe Botanical Gardens

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport or after breakfast at your hotel, you will be welcomed by your professional driver-guide and transferred to the beautiful Entebbe Botanical Gardens. Established in 1898 on the shores of Lake Victoria, the gardens are home to a rich variety of indigenous and exotic plant species, playful black-and-white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, butterflies, and over 100 bird species. Enjoy a guided nature walk through the lush tropical forest while learning about Uganda’s flora and fauna. The lakeside section offers spectacular views of Lake Victoria and is an excellent location for photography and birdwatching.

After lunch at a local restaurant, spend the afternoon relaxing or exploring the nearby lakeshore. You may also enjoy watching local fishermen or take in the peaceful atmosphere of Uganda’s largest lake before checking into your accommodation.

2
After an early breakfast, depart for Mabamba Swamp, one of Uganda’s most famous birding destinations and a Ramsar-listed wetland on the shores of Lake Victoria. Board a traditional wooden canoe and glide quietly through the papyrus channels in search of the legendary Shoebill Stork, one of Africa’s most sought-after birds. Besides the Shoebill, the swamp hosts numerous bird species including African Jacanas, Malachite Kingfishers, Purple Herons, Blue-breasted Bee-eaters, Swamp Flycatchers, and many others, making it a paradise for bird enthusiasts. Early morning offers the highest chance of spotting the Shoebill.

After your birding excursion, return to Entebbe for lunch. Spend the remainder of the afternoon at leisure, relaxing at your hotel or enjoying the beautiful Lake Victoria waterfront.

3

Following breakfast, visit the Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre (UWEC), Uganda’s leading wildlife conservation and education facility. During your guided tour, encounter many of Uganda’s iconic wildlife species including lions, elephants, giraffes, chimpanzees, rhinos, leopards, crocodiles, numerous reptiles, and a wide variety of birds. The centre plays an important role in wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, conservation education, and breeding programs, offering visitors an opportunity to learn about Uganda’s remarkable biodiversity and conservation efforts.

Enjoy lunch before being transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your memorable 3-day nature and wildlife experience in Uganda.
