Lake Mburo National Park is amazingly the closest national park to Kampala, it also doubles as the smallest national park. Situated between Masaka and Mbarara district taking approximately 4 hours drive time to arrive Some of the most common tourism activities at Lake Mburo include; Game drive in the park, boat cruise on Lake Mburo, birding/ bird watching, Nature walks, the unique horse riding to view wildlife, fishing, cultural tours and cycling among others.

Day 1: Departure

Pickup from Entebbe international airport and transfer to lake Mburo national park for a night game drive

Our tour guide will pick you up from Entebbe international airport at 7:00am and proceed to lake Mburo national park. The drive will take about 4 hours and you shall have a stopover at the equator for beautiful photography and then proceed to the park. You will head to the lodge for check-in and relaxation. You will then drive for a night game drive which will take 2 hours and you will have a chance to view different animals like the zebras, waterbucks, warthogs, elands, impala, hyenas etc. After you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning nature walk and afternoon boat cruise

After the morning breakfast, you will head for a nature walk with a tour guide. The walk will take you to different parts of the park and it will start at 7;00AM at Rwakonyo. You will spend two to three hours. You will return to the lodge for a hot lunch and proceed with an afternoon boat cruise. This is one of the most memorable experiences from the park. Over 300 hippos are found in the lake. Take pleasure in observing different water birds together with their echoing sweet sounds and animals such as hippos, African crocodiles, waterbucks, buffaloes etc.

Day 3: Horseback riding and transfer back to Entebbe international airport.

Horseback riding and transfer back to Entebbe international airport.
After your breakfast in the morning, you shall proceed for a horse ride that will start at 10:00am and you will get a chance to explore the park with great views of lake Mburo, surrounding hills, local community, and valleys and the park. You will drive back to the lodge for lunch and checkout and then embark on your journey back to Entebbe international airport.
