Day 1: Arrival in Kigali for a City Tour & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport or after breakfast at your hotel, meet with our driver-guide for a guided city tour. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial for an insightful look into Rwanda’s history, explore local craft markets, and, if time allows, stop at the Kandt House Museum or art galleries showcasing Rwandan talent. In the afternoon, depart for Volcanoes National Park in Musanze. Enjoy the scenic two-hour drive through Rwanda’s famous rolling hills and countryside. Arrive at your lodge near the park and relax in preparation for the next day’s gorilla trek.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking Experience

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing by park rangers. You’ll be assigned to a gorilla family based on your fitness level. The trek through the dense forest of the Virunga Mountains can range from 2 to 6 hours, but the reward is extraordinary standing just meters away from a family of mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Spend a magical hour observing them as they feed, play, and interact. Return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure. Optional activities such as visiting the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village can be arranged at an extra cost.

Day 3: Return to Kigali and Departure

After a leisurely breakfast, check out and begin your return journey to Kigali. Depending on your flight schedule or plans, you may visit more sites in the city or do some souvenir shopping before being transferred to the airport or your preferred drop-off location.
