Day 1: Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park

Your safari begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Kampala at 6:00 am, followed by a scenic drive southwest through the lush Ugandan countryside. Arriving at Lake Mburo National Park in the late morning, you will check into your lodge and enjoy a relaxing lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive through the park’s rolling hills and open savannahs, where zebras, impalas, buffaloes, and giraffes roam freely. You will also enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Mburo, offering intimate views of hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species along the lake’s edge. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Lake Mburo to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After breakfast, you will depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, traveling through scenic highlands and small villages, catching glimpses of rural life and Uganda’s stunning landscapes. Arriving in Bwindi in the afternoon, you will settle into your lodge before enjoying dinner and preparing for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

Today is the highlight of the safari: gorilla trekking in Bwindi’s misty forests. You will be assigned a gorilla family by park rangers and hike through dense forest, guided by experienced trackers, in search of these magnificent creatures. Spending an hour in the presence of the gorillas, you will observe their social interactions and take photos while respecting park regulations. After descending from the forest, you will return to the lodge for lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing or enjoying optional nature walks nearby. Dinner and overnight follow.

Day 4: Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing through scenic valleys and the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains. Arriving at your lodge in the early afternoon, you will enjoy lunch and some rest before heading out for an evening game drive. This drive allows you to spot elephants, Uganda kob, buffaloes, and perhaps lions as the park’s diverse habitats, from open savannah to crater lakes, reveal themselves in the soft glow of sunset. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Morning Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Rise early for a morning game drive to explore Queen Elizabeth’s wildlife-rich savannahs, forested hills, and crater lakes, giving you more chances to encounter lions, leopards, elephants, and a variety of antelopes. Return to the lodge for lunch and relax before heading out for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel at 2:00 pm. The cruise provides up-close views of hippos, crocodiles, and countless bird species, while elephants and buffaloes often graze along the riverbanks. After the cruise, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer Back to Kampala

On the final day of your safari, you will check out after breakfast and begin the scenic drive back to Kampala. Along the way, you can stop for photos of the rolling countryside, local markets, or scenic viewpoints. You will arrive in Kampala by late afternoon, concluding your 6-day Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Safari with unforgettable memories of gorillas, wildlife, and the stunning landscapes of Uganda.
