Domestic Flights. For travelers short on time or heading to remote areas, domestic flights are the most efficient way to get around. Uganda has several reputable domestic airlines, including Aero Link, Bar Aviation and others which operate flights to major tourist destinations like Bwindi, Kidepo, and Murchison etc. These flights can be booked online or through local travel agencies. It's advisable to book in advance, especially during the peak tourist season. Entebbe International Airport is the main hub, with smaller airstrips located near key attractions. Road Travels. Uganda’s road network connects most parts of the country, offering scenic drives and opportunities to explore at your own pace. Renting a car is a popular option for travelers who prefer independence. You can hire a vehicle with or without a driver. Major rental companies operate in Kampala and Entebbe, offering a range of vehicles from saloon cars to 4x4 suitable for rough terrain. In Uganda, people drive on the left-hand side of the road. Ensure you have a valid international driving permit and are aware of local driving laws. Road conditions vary, with some highways in good condition and others more challenging, especially in rural areas. Fuel stations are readily available in cities and towns, but it's wise to fill up before heading into more remote areas. Public buses and minibuses are the most common form of public transport.
