Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park
Your safari starts with a drive south from Nairobi to Amboseli National Park, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive. Amboseli is one of the best places in Africa to see free-ranging elephants up close, often with the towering silhouette of Mount Kilimanjaro in the background. Return to your lodge for dinner and an evening listening to the calls of the wild.
2
Spend a full day exploring Amboseli, beginning with a sunrise game drive when animals are most active. Explore the seasonal swamps and open plains where elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and various bird species gather. After lunch and some rest, head out again in the afternoon to continue your safari. As the sun sets behind Kilimanjaro, it casts a magical glow over the park.
3
Day 3: Amboseli to Lake Naivasha
Depart after breakfast and travel north through the scenic Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha. This freshwater lake is a haven for birds and home to hippos and other aquatic life. After lunch at your lodge, enjoy a guided boat ride across the lake where you’ll spot hippos up close and witness fish eagles diving for their catch. Optional visits to Crescent Island or a nearby flower farm can be arranged.
4
Day 4: Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, set off for the Masai Mara, one of Africa’s top safari destinations. Arrive in the reserve in time for lunch and enjoy some leisure time at your camp or lodge. In the afternoon, head out for your first Mara game drive. The vast grasslands and acacia woodlands support an incredible array of wildlife, from herds of antelope to large prides of lions.
5
Day 5: Full Day in Masai Mara National Reserve
Today is dedicated to extensive game viewing in the Masai Mara. Morning and afternoon drives take you across different sections of the park in search of wildlife. Depending on the time of year, you may witness the annual Great Migration. Stop for a picnic lunch under a shady tree or return to camp for a hot meal. The Mara is alive with predators and prey, offering unforgettable encounters around every corner.
6
Day 6:Another Full Day in the Mara
Use this second full day in the Masai Mara to explore deeper areas of the reserve. Visit the Mara River to look for hippos and crocodiles, especially during migration season. For a different perspective, consider adding a hot air balloon safari early in the morning (extra cost). Meet local Maasai communities on a cultural visit to learn about their traditions and pastoral lifestyle.
7
Day 7: Masai Mara to Nairobi
After a final morning drive and breakfast, check out and begin your drive back to Nairobi. Arrive by mid to late afternoon, bringing your unforgettable week-long wildlife adventure to a close. Optional farewell dinner or airport transfer can be arranged based on your travel plans.
