Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
Your tour begins with a morning pick-up from Kigali. Enjoy a scenic drive through Rwanda’s famous rolling hills and countryside as you head south to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Along the way, stop in Huye to visit the Ethnographic Museum for insight into Rwanda’s rich history and culture. Continue through lush tea plantations toward Nyungwe. Time permitting, visit a tea estate to learn about tea production and enjoy the stunning scenery before checking in at your lodge.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking & Canopy Walk and later Transfer to Lake Kivu
Rise early for a thrilling chimpanzee trekking experience in Nyungwe Forest. After a briefing from park rangers, head into the rainforest, where the calls of chimpanzees echo through the trees. Track these playful primates and spend an unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat. Nyungwe is also home to other primates, including colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, which you may spot along the way. Later in the day, enjoy the famous Nyungwe Canopy Walk, a suspended walkway offering panoramic views over the forest canopy and a chance to spot birds, monkeys, and other wildlife from above. After lunch, depart for Lake Kivu, driving along scenic mountain roads. Arrive in the town of Kibuye or Gisenyi and check in to your lakeside hotel.

Day 3: Lake Kivu Experience and Return to Kigali
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast with views over the calm waters of Lake Kivu. You may opt for a relaxing boat ride to explore nearby islands or take a walk along the lakeshore. The lake is ideal for swimming, kayaking, or simply unwinding by the beach. In the afternoon, begin your drive back to Kigali, passing through picturesque landscapes. Arrive in Kigali in the evening for drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
