Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

You will be picked by our tour guide and you will embark on a city tour (time permitting), including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, offering deep insight into Rwanda’s history. Afterward, enjoy a scenic drive north to Volcanoes National Park. The journey unveils rolling hills, lush plantations, and rural life, earning Rwanda its nickname ‘the Land of a Thousand Hills’. Upon arrival, check into your lodge nestled in the foothills of the Virunga Volcanoes, where you will relax in preparation for the next day’s adventure.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Today marks the highlight of your safari, ‘the unforgettable gorilla trekking experience’. After an early breakfast, you will proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. You will then be assigned to a specific gorilla family and begin the trek through the rainforest. The hike can be demanding depending on the gorillas’ location, but the reward is immeasurable. Once you locate the gorillas, you will spend one magical hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat, a moment that will remain in your memory. After the trek, return to the lodge for relaxation or an optional community.

Day 3: Transfer to Kigali and Departure

After breakfast, you will check out and drive back to Kigali. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for craft shopping or additional sightseeing. You will then be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your onward flight, marking the end of your incredible Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari
