This off-the-beaten-path safari blends challenging hikes with rich cultural encounters and untouched natural beauty. Each mountain offers a unique trekking experience: the rocky escarpments of Napak, the dramatic ridgelines of Kadam, the forested trails of Moroto, and the sacred heights of Morungole—home to the Ik people, one of Uganda’s most isolated communities.

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Mount Napak
Very early in the morning, meet with your guide and drive towards Napak. You ill enjoy the scenic drive through towns such as Jinja, Mbale etc,. before reaching Napak. You will have a stop over along the way for a lunch break. You will then proceed and check-in at campsite. You will get a brief introduction to the local area and an overview of the upcoming hikes. Later, you will have dinner and rest for the night in preparation for the adventure.

Day 2: Hike to the summit of Napak and transfer to mount Kadam
Have breakfast early in the morning and depart for Napak peak by 7: 00AM. The hike starts with an ease climb to the summit. Enjoy the panoramic views from the top, including the stunning landscapes of the Karamoja region and neighboring mountains. After the hike, take some time for lunch and after begin your descent back to the base of Napak. You will then transfer to Mount Kadam, check in to the accommodation or camp, take rest and relax.

Day 3: Hike Mount Kadam and transfer to Moroto.
Enjoy an early breakfast and prepare for the hike up Mount Kadam. Ascend through diverse terrain, from rocky paths to tropical forest as you keep your eyes open for the unique wildlife and plant species. Reach the summit that offers a remarkable view of the surrounding area. You will enjoy your packed lunch, as you relax before beginning to descend. Descend and then drive to Moroto. Check into the accommodation upon arrival and enjoy the rest of the day.

Day 4: Hike Mount Moroto and camp for experience
After breakfast very early in the morning, prepare for the hike up Mount Moroto, which offers a bit challenging climb. As you ascend, you will encounter unique rock formations, tropical forest patches, and expansive views of the Karamoja region. Reach the summit of Mount Moroto, where you can have lunch while admiring the breathtaking views of the region. Spend time at the peak, taking in the atmosphere of the Karamoja highlands and interacting with fellow hikers. Later, begin your descent and return to the base. In the evening, you can enjoy a traditional Karamoja-style campfire experience you can sit around the fire, listen to stories from the local guides. Have dinner around the campfire and later return to the lodge for an overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer to Mount Morungole
After breakfast, pack your bag and depart for Morungole. Enjoy scenic drives passing through rural landscapes. Upon arrival in Murongole, check in to the accommodation and have lunch. You may choose to take short walk around Morungole, a peaceful area known for its unique cultural atmosphere and proximity o the wildlife- rich Kidepo Valley. You can also interact with the locals to lean about their way of life. Have dinner served and then overnight at the camp.

Day 6: Hike to the summit of Mout Morungule.
After an early breakfast, prepare for the challenging hike up mount Morungole. The hike is relatively steep but offers stunning views as you ascend. As you reach the summit, you will have exceptional views of the surrounding valleys and other peaks in Karamoja region, as well as the Kidepo Valley National Park. Once at the top, enjoy a well deserved break and take a packed lunch. Begin the descent and return to the campsite for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Transfer back to Kampala to End the Trip
After breakfast, pack your bags and begin your journey back to kampala. Along the way, enjoy the views of Uganda’s stunning landscapes and perhaps stop for lunch or refreshments in a local town.
